Bus Donation

New postby Andy on Mon Jan 11, 2010 10:13 am

It is with a very "BIG" - Thank You - to Lee and his dad Kevin Lammers for the donation of a new - old bus to Bear Paw for use in transporting Scouts and Leaders to events and activities outside of Bear Paw, exspecially during the Summer Camp Program.

If and when you meet either of these two folks, please give them a "BIG" Thank You from all of us.

The bus is how you see it, so we are looking for ideas on how to letter the bus to show it is from Camp. Only serious ideas will be considered, all others will be squashed like a bug on a windshield at 60mph...

You've got to love the name of the picture of the new "vehicle" for camp.

Lee and his dad actually did paint the bus. It was converted from a school bus - removal of lights, stop sign, etc., so it could be donated.

The bus does have a brand new paint job. The color of the picture is off, but it is a gloss tan with dark brown gloss trim work. It looks really nice. Not beat up nor bad looking.

It does need labeling though. Ideas?????

If it doesn't have it already, the bus could use one or 10 BPSC bumper stickers. :D

Could spray paint one of those stencil bear paws on it for every year we have successful use of the new vehicle.

I think the big round bear paw sign logo on the back of it... and the side can be something creative that marks us as being from the metropolis of mountain... and of course the fine print on the top back of the bus 'who says busses aren't meant to off road?'

I think on the front and back where school bus used to be it should say Scout bus. I agee the sides need to be more artistic. although the bay lakes image with the sun reflecting on the water with a big old bear paw instead of the sun would look cool!
WOW i guess that is all der eh!

A Bear Paw MUST be painted on the hood of this ride.

Another suggestion would be to create stencils or grates shaped like a bear paw and put them over the lights on the back of the bus so when you break the light looks like the paw.

For everyone that has seen Dumb and Dumber I think we should take there idea with converting the van into a dog, and covert this bus into a bear.
We could get brown carpet for the sides or something, a tail on the back. If this idea is somehow accepted, we could change the horn to sound like a growling bear, which would all but gaurantee respect on the roads.

While that previous idea may be squashed, I think it'd be cool and I call driving it to GDC this summer for the meeting during staff week.

I also recommed removing the seats and putting in couches...

WHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
How many people are excited for this? I am STOKED!

I like the idea of the circular logo on the back door and "Scout Bus"

-T-House: 1-10 bp stickers would NOT LOOK COOL! one maybe, but if 10 end up on that r.racer.....i will fly from idaho to wisconsin and kick your butt for even mentioning that idea!

Text on side:
"Bear Paw Scout Camp Bus Line"

Anyone who remembers the "decorations" placed on my old Duster....shouldnt be added to this bus as well.

we could a big paw on the front like the rest of the logos that we have at bear paw,or we could put a lil something from all of the areas on the bus then go with Wallys idea and make a paw for a headlight and tail light covers.

We could also put bear paw down the sides of the bus in brown lettering, we could put the names of the campsites all over the bus,we could get a bunch of see through decals and put htem on the windows so that when people try to look in all they all looking at is the big bear in the windows,we could also put bear paw stuff on the inside too.

I'm wondering what happened to my idea about dressing the bus up as a bear, is that illegal? I don't think so, unless it's too awesome for road travel...I think it would be a HUGE hit.

Until it rains and you have 800 pounds of wet carpet. Wonder how it would take curves then...

Oh, come on! you and i both know that the biggest head-turners on the road are the ones that have the most bumper stickers.

i say we just paint it brown an put the yellow decals on it and just put abunch of random decals ,i got it we could get decals made from all the patches up at camp starting from when camp opened till it closes
i hope it never closes we could put a picture of the lake with the sun shining on it on the front of the bus, we could put the head of a bear on the front of the bus and the butt of the bear in the back of the bus
