Your camp commissioner is your special agent for everything. It is your commissioner's job to do everything he can to make your stay at camp the best it possibly can be.
Sunday you will meet your commissioner and from that point on he will be your encyclopedia for all things Bear Paw. Use your commissioner as the ultimate camp resource. He can connect you with the people and places that make camp go.
While at camp be sure to put your commissioner to work. During the week your commissioner may be found providing leader training, participating in adult leader discussions, and partaking in in good old fashioned leader fun.
The commissioner corps is made up of a seasoned volunteers who have a love for Scouting and knowledge of all things Bear Paw. Camp commisioners come from all walks of life, from retired Scoutmasters to former camp staff members.
Commissioners are responsible for aiding the general operation of the program at camp. Each commissioner is assigned a handful of troops to monitor, support, and befriend for their week in camp. Typical commissioner duties include:
Commissioners are an integral part of the Bear Paw Staff for the weeks they volunteer at camp. They are active participants in all that happens and are forever part of our Bear Paw family. Each volunteer is housed with the camp staff and is provided with meals and a "Class B" uniform shirt.
Registered Adult Leaders may volunteer to work as many weeks of the summer as they can manage. Volunteers will be selected in an attempt to involve as many talented applicants as are willing and able.
If you ready to volunteer or just looking for more information, complete the Commissioner Interest Form. You will be contacted by the program coordinator as the season approaches. We look forward to hearing from you.
