Be Prepared: Your Week at Camp

All the details you need to be fully prepared for a week at Bear Paw will be shipped to each registered unit in spring in the Bear Paw Leader's Guidebook. In this section, we have attempted to provide a basic outline of the most common information to provide another way to share with parents, Scouts, leaders, and committee members.

Get Registered

Registration for summer camp begins by making a campsite reservation beginning in June a year in advance. All registration business is handled directly with the Bay-Lakes Council Center for Scouting.

In January and February, Scouts should begin to make installment payments of camp fees. Fees are paid directly to the Bay-Lakes Council Center for Scouting. For more, review the 2008 Bear Paw Fee Schedule

Plan Your Program Activities

Two weeks before you head for camp you should submit your program requests. For each scout you will have to pre-register for Merit Badge sessions. Use the list of Merit Badges offered at Bear Paw and the Merit Badge Schedule select the activities best suited for each boy.

In addition to Merit Badges, you may also need to pre-register for some Troop & Patrol Activities. If you are interested in taking an outbound canoeing or backpacking excursion you must register before camp. Be sure to review the Leader's Guidebook to ensure you have finished all of your pre-programming.
