Boy Scout Resident Camp was held at Bear Paw from 22 June to 2 August in 1952.

Recently retired from service, the City of Oconto Fire Bell was installed on a newly constructed Bell Tower outside the Nicolet Dining Hall. The bell was immediately pressed into service in the summer of 1952, arousing campers, calling them to meals, and announcing special events.
